The theatralisation of Srečko Kosovel’s poetry and prose makes Kosovel’s (1904–1926) thought – his expressing the need for the change of the existing social order, almost unbelievably fitting for our times – the focal point of the performance.
The performance primarily speaks to the young, the heralds of the future, while performatively it leans on constructivism, the aesthetics of which Kosovel linked to ethics. His call for a renewal of man, for man as »ethos personalised«, is translated as an elaborate theatre intertwining of the selection of socially engaged texts, visualised and set to music, and complemented with prose excerpts that contribute some quiet engagement to the revolutionary tone of this theatre cry for humanity.
The project, also marked the 110th anniversary of Kosovel's birth, was prepared by director Andrej Jus in cooperation with Nejc Valenti and Branko Rožman.
