I Stand Naked In Front of You is a musical journey by the renowned Slovenian chanson singer and actress Lara Jankovič into the world of French chanson, jazz, musical theatre, tango, and more—extending all the way to the poetry of Feri Lainšček, Vinko Möderndorfer, and Jacques Prévert. Together with Lara, you will wander through the streets of pre-war New York, post-war Montmartre—where the voice of the “Little Sparrow of Paris” still echoes—Buenos Aires, where in the evening on Arenales Street you might still encounter a tramp in a cylinder, as well as through the home plains of the Mura River, where in the verses of Feri Lainšček melancholy merges with the fiery temperament of Roma music and spirit.
At the concert, which takes its title from her debut album I Stand Naked In Front of You (2004), Lara Jankovič will perform a selection of songs from her four albums. Alongside songs by Édith Piaf, Astor Piazzolla, and pieces from musicals, she will also present songs for which she is the author of the lyrics.
