The project Borderless Body, which in four years under the artistic direction of Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec Rynia with a permanent international dance ensemble, has released several full-length productions, short choreographies and dance films (To the Moon and Back, Distance, Border-Line), F-Lights, Prometheus, A-Line, Drop), was conceived as one of the programme highlights of the European Capital of Culture candidature period, to question the future of man in a world of climate change and, above all, his response to the challenges of the future. The project aims to explore the limitations of the body and to link dance with artificial intelligence and robotics, questioning the future relationship between the biological and the technological. What happens when human bodies can be "optimised" by technology? What will the "body" be in the future, and will the mind necessarily need a biological body to function? Can the body be moved by artificial intelligence using algorithms?

The "future" has come sooner than we expected. Today, artificial intelligence is our constant companion, cyborgs are becoming a reality, robotic arms and legs can be moved with the power of the human brain, and we are becoming more and more hybrid beings as medical technology advances. How should we respond to this? Will we use technology to serve us, or will we succumb to the principle of self-optimisation imposed on anyone who is "not perfect"? These are scary but inevitable questions for the human future, but they also hold hope and new solutions for an ageing society. In an exciting period of exploration of this pressing theme within the Borderless Body process, culminating in the performance of the same name, these questions are interrogated through the dancer's "flawless" body, caught in limitations and placed in different contexts.

We were most interested in the human being's confrontation with the limitations of his body, his intellect and the planet, and the possibilities of overcoming them, for which he has always made use of religion, science, and nowadays artificial intelligence and robotics. Man suspects that there is an immense potential beyond his limitations, something he is always yearning for, reaching for the limitless, seeking the true meaning of his existence, exploring its breadths and depths. The fear of death and meaninglessness drives him to strive every day to be better than he was yesterday, to create, to explore, to conquer and to discover new worlds outside and within himself. Will he succeed in finding what he is looking for?
