A jigsaw puzzle of lives of six individuals and their unusual relationships, both binding and casual: Dan was dismissed from of the army and now spends his days on a stool in a hotel bar, while his girlfriend Nicola is looking for a more suitable flat although she feels their relationship is falling apart. Stewart is a real-estate agent in love with his colleague, the mysterious Charlotte, who volunteers in a hospice. Ambrose, who works in a bar where Dan gets drunk, has a sick father and could use her help. Imogen, Stewart’s single sister, unsuccessfully tries to set up dates for herself … finally with Dan …
