Tailors of the World - Funeral Fashion Show

Krojači sveta – Funeral Fashion Show is a fashion-theatre-music show that presents things past, yet still alive. The dead will walk across the stage – with names and faces. Today, they're more alive than ever, because they burned out for an idea bigger than themselves. As they were at the same time masters of their own image and propaganda, they used this carefully controlled image to beat death. In the spectacle, we travel through the humankind, through time. We travel among the dark, white and golden faces, among curls and wigs, through scents and music; through the colourful masquerade of our civilisation.

The lavish costumes in the spectacle underline the importance of a dress as a tool of wealth, position and power. Dress allows us to be different from others, or to prove our belonging. With your clothes, you lift yourself above others, you determine your position, you dictate obedience. By dictating the dress, you dictate sexuality, ambition, belonging.
Fashion and politics are merely two sides of the same coin: power. Fashion is power. Those who had the power got it because they knew how to manipulate masses. Fashion is the corset of the society. Those who have the power sew it, but we draw the strings ourselves, because we want to belong.
