The ensemble members Hasti Molavian and Uwe Schmieder as well as the pianist Leonhard Garms stand alone on the stage of the Volkstheater. The grandstands are deserted, the corridors in the Volkstheater are deserted. A mash-up emerges from two texts: Hasti Molavian sings “ Ich bin der Welt loser ” a poem by Friedrich Rückert in Gustav Mahler's setting from 1901; Uwe Schmieder speaks the text " Empty Theater" by Heiner Müller from 1994.
Has the world's theater been lost? Are we lost in the world? Where and how do we look further?
After a while, a metamorphosis begins. The three bodies on the empty stage gradually transform, slowly becoming structures of radiant, infinite light. The stage, the theater building, the world around them also become a digital point cloud. The boundaries between the real and the virtual are blurring on the horizon, new spaces are emerging. Everything is open again. An old time dissolves, a new one begins.
